Kinderwunschzentrum Ludwigshafen

Kinderwunschzentrum Ludwigshafen is a specialist practice for Gynaecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. The practice treats couples, single women and lesbian couples. The medical team consists of Dr. med. Tobias Schmidt, Dr. med. Claudia Schmidt, Dr. med. Ulrike Maier and Dr. med. N. Blass, supported by biologists and medical staff.

Treatment can generally begin within two weeks of the initial consultation. First appointments are available both in person and via video consultation. Patient information is available in German, English, Arabic, Turkish and Spanish.

Lesbian Couples

Lesbian couples can choose between IUI and IVF/ICSI with donor sperm. The couple must be married, in a registered civil partnership or in a committed long-term relationship. Prior to treatment, a written legal counselling session covering the aspects of donor sperm treatment is required and must be notarially certified. The clinic provides referrals to psychosocial counselling on request. Since 2021, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate offers a financial subsidy for lesbian couples with their primary residence in the state. Treatment costs are not covered by statutory health insurance.

Single Women

Single women are treated at the practice. Donor sperm insemination (DI) is available. Referrals to psychosocial counselling are offered on request.
